What's for supper?

..I'm still confused & this blogging lark still makes no sense at all to me..That said, I've just spent a merry half an hour on India Knight's 'Things I Love' site & loved it!
So..food..Today I've had the task of sourcing 10kg of Bratwurst from a German Deli to cater for an Oompah evening at a Real Tennis Club In Leamington Spa (They know how to go mental in Leamington I can tell you!) I haven't got the gig yet, but will keep you posted!

Nicest recent meal..Richard's birthday lunch on a narrow boat in deepest Warwickshire..poached salmon, homemade hollandaise, jersey royals with mint, & baby summer vegetables with a lemon vinaigrette..Followed by Raspberry shortbreads & all washed down with a bottle of ice cold champagne. De bloomin' licious.

Hi There..
We've been doing a lot of work on the marketing of Kemp & Kemp catering : identifying wedding fairs we should attend, designing business cards, updating the website..For all of which Richard has to take credit, since I have had my head in various cookery books plotting & planning exciting new dishes for all of our new weddings.
It was whilst browsing our website ( nothing vain about moi!) that I realised we are inviting you to follow my blog & consequently how pathetic I am about keeping it up! Goodness knows how people find the time for it..let alone 'tweeting'
I have resolved then to try to make my blog more frequent, especially as I'm now shamed into it..
So..What is for supper??
Well, I don't know about you, but we have been eating outside now, for nearly a month. Long may it last.
Tonight it is fresh cod rolled in chopped rosemary, wrapped in pancetta, drizzled with olive oil & popped in the oven for about 15 mins..Delicious..I have some homemade (of course) pesto left in the fridge so I'll stir it into some rice...Simple! Now then..Is the sun over the yard arm yet??!

Hi there,

What a weekend we had..We momentarily took off the Kemp & Kemp chef's hats & in full Local Tart & Homemade Pate company guise, braced ourselves for two days at Tewkesbury Food & Drink Festival.
Lured there by respected farmers' market friends telling us that it was a very busy event &, I have to admit, the promise of an oggle & the odd lustful thought ( Sorry Richard!) over guest celebrity chef, James Martin (Who cares what he cooks??) Off we set.
I won't bore you with the details..Suffice it to say that it was absolute bedlam on both days..some foodies, but quite a lot of 'professional samplers' We got home yesterday at around 7.00p.m and, having had a couple of days of takeaways ( rare for us..but even my love of food & cooking occasionally has it's limits!) I was determined to make us something good to eat.

At 8.00p.m, we sat down to a rack of lamb with garlic & herb crust, English asparagus, Goose fat roasted potatoes, red wine & rosemary gravy & Delia's homemade mint sauce.. All made from scratch and on the table in an hour..So..fast food Kemp style.
Needless to say this was preceeded by a few glasses of chilled white (cook's pleasure..to keep me company in the kitchen) and accompanied by a mighty fine bottle of red.

Still in the spirit of good fast food & now in full English asparagus & new season's Jersey royal mode..tonight we're having those two delicious foods with good ham & homemade mayonaisse ( the Delia quick one)

Gosh...One follower..My sister, I think! No doubt anxiously waiting to see what I might be up to in the kitchen. She & I share a love of cooking & are oft to be seen salivating, fondling & generally luxuriating in the smell, taste & sight of great food..A good food market is to us what Dolce & Gabana is to Posh !
Anyway..spurred on by Richard's hard work linking this blog to various of our websites, I will now make the time each week to see if I can't come up with some yummy recipes and ideas.
Be warned..Next week is a very busy one for me, I'll be in my kitchen from Tuesday preparing for our first Ludlow Food Festival on Sunday 9th May..So by the evening it'll be gin & tonic in hand & easy suppers all week!
Easy..but delicious.

So..having now been dragged kicking & screaming into the 21st century & spurred on by my daughter, to whom these things are second nature, and my husband, who is probably my biggest fan on the food front ( on other fronts too, I hope ) I'm going to attempt to recreate, as often as I can muster ( does all of this take long? I'm a busy woman! ) a week in the life of chez Kemp's suppers.
I'll start soon..This week is busy..but we are eating well &, in honour of Rose Gray, and my recent trip to Rome, I'm keeping it simple, fresh, and light ( There's only so much pizza & pasta a girl can eat in Rome without some impact on the old waistline )

I don't know how any of this works, but I guess I'm hoping that there is somebody out there, that you will like what I write..but more importantly what I cook.
